This was done for his 23th birthday, 28th Feb 2009.

I really wanted to draw him a birthday fan art this year, since the Death Note fandom has become so still in comparison to the last years. I hope the fans haven't forgotten him so soon, or have they? *sobs* I drew this and hope that maybe it could somehow make the fans who see it remember him a bit longer. ;___;

The line art was done very roughly. I was just scribbling, wishing an idea would pop up, and there came Light with this look on his face. I painted this in one go. (That's a tiring work, since I spent 12 hours or so painting this without a break. Far sooooo much time. I'm such a slow painter. D: )

My friend said that the path from his left chest to the background gave a feeling of the soul leaving the body. And that was a great idea of hers, isn't it? :3 Light sacrifice his heart and soul in order to become the God of the New World. Mhmmmm..
